FAQ

How is CrossFit Oak Creek different than other gyms?
At CrossFit Oak Creek, our clients are our most valuable asset. You are an individual, NOT a number of scanner code. We value all of our clients, and take into consideration all components of fitness: not just working out. A custom nutrition and supplement program is included as part of your membership.

Do I have to be in shape to do CrossFit?
No! The great thing about CrossFit is that you will see people of all fitness levels working out together. Our programming allows us to scale exercises and allowing us to make moves more challenging, which all depends on your fitness level. Fitness is a lifelong journey and we are here to help you along the process.

I have never lifted weights before. Is CrossFit for me?
Yes. CrossFit is beneficial to anyone – from a sedentary individual to an endurance athlete. When you start at CrossFit Oak Creek, you are required to take an Elements class. This covers the basic fundamentals of learning proper technique, form and discovering where your fitness level is.

What should I expect at my first CrossFit Oak Creek class?

Please arrive 5-10 minutes before class to give yourself time to get ready to train. Sessions start promptly with a 5-10 minute group warm up, followed by a skill-based exercise or movement that is part of the WOD (Workout of the Day). The WOD can last anywhere from 3-30 minutes. We finish each session by performing any stretching or foam rolling necessary to cool down and put away all of our equipment.

What should I bring and wear to class?
We recommend you wear comfortable clothes that you can move around and work out in. If the ground is wet (rain or snow), we recommend brining a second pair of shoes. A flat shoe or running shoe is recommended. In addition, please bring water, a towel and a positive attitude!

Will CrossFit make me big and bulky?
No. CrossFit training will not make you big and bulky. Most of our clients end up getting stronger, leaning out, losing inches, having more energy, building confidence and make new friends. If getting big and bulky is your goal, we can customize your program to help you reach that goal.

I have heard you can get hurt doing CrossFit, is this true?
You can injure yourself in any activity, but at CrossFit Oak Creek, we like to work people in 3 stages. First: mechanics – learning how to do the movements with the correct technique. Second: Consistency – the ability to do the movements over and over again with safe and relatively efficient technique. Third: intensity – the speed at which you do the movements.

Can I get a good workout in under 30 minutes?
Yes! Research shows that shorter duration/higher intensity workouts yield higher benefits and results. With a shorter workout, you can work harder by nature, which can lead to a better response.
I feel it is too expensive, is this true?
We are competitively priced will all other group led workout programs in our local area. It is personal training at a fraction of the cost. We offer you 24/7 support to help you get the results you are looking for.
